We are opening a new research line on maritime affairs and border regions. Aceh sits at the mouth of the Malacca Strait — one of the world’s busiest sea lanes — and its ports, fisheries, and diaspora networks tie the province directly into Indo-Pacific dynamics.
The first output will be a mapping study of cross-strait economic linkages between Aceh, northern Sumatra, and the Andaman littoral.
